It’s one of those days when I just crave Iekei ramen—a monthly necessity for any serious ramen fan! That’s exactly why we're here!
This popular shop was opened by Mr. Maruta, who trained at Tsubasaya, a renowned Iekei master. As a descendant of the Rokkaku-ya kei lineage, Pattapata offers a sophisticated balance of pork bones (tonkotsu), shoyu (soy sauce), and chicken oil.
Located right in front of Nishi-Kunitachi Station, this spot is enthusiastically supported by local patrons.
Their main selling point is the proud smoked chashu—cooked using the traditional tsurushiyaki (hanging roast) method. You get to choose between the lean Momo (thigh) or the tender Rosu (loin), which is an absolute delight for any meat lover!

Iekei ramen is synonymous with medium-thick straight noodles.

The Chashu Trio: Golden State in a Bowl

The sheer artistry of Pattapata’s ramen is encapsulated by the Chashu Trio on the rim of the bowl—asserting its dominant presence.
The line-up includes Momo (Thigh), Rosu (Loin), and Kata Rosu (Shoulder Loin). All three slices are lean and healthy with minimal fat, but their intense meaty texture makes you feel as though you are savoring refined Bacons!
They reminded me of Steph, Klay, and Draymond! Golden State in a bowl!
Here are the specific characteristics of each cut:
・Kata Rosu (Shoulder Loin): The Juiciest—slightly more marbling, giving it a pronounced juiciness and a robust, savory depth.
・Momo (Thigh): The Leanest Cut—firm, solid bite, and the most concentrated pork flavor. Roasted for maximum density.
・Rosu (Loin): Balanced Texture—superb balance of tenderness and satisfying chew. Delivers a clean, classic pork taste.
A Wide Array of Table Condiments: Time to Customize
This is where the true fun begins! Pattapata provides a wide array of condiments for you to fully customize your experience.

On the table, you'll find essentials like Grated Garlic, Chili-Marinated Garlic (perfect for a spicy kick), and Takana (Spicy Pickled Mustard Greens).

You'll also find Vinegar, Chili Powder, Chili Paste, Sesame Seeds, Black Pepper, and even Mayonnaise—a full spectrum of flavors to take your bowl MAX junk.

The recommended way to eat this? Load your nori (seaweed) sheet with both the Garlic-Chili Marinade and Chili Paste, wrap it around some noodles or rice, and simply shovel it down!
The Rice Hack: The Essential Finishing Move

A classic move is simply topping your rice with Takana (spicy pickled mustard greens)! This combination alone is so good, you could easily eat three bowls of rice. This is an essential finishing move.

The true brilliance, however, lies in its premium elements.
